How to Assemble a Collage for Instagram Story – iOS and Android

The benefits of using collage on the Instagram story for business and personal accounts are numerous. It is a great way to grow your identity and increase followers on Instagram.

To make the Instagram story collage, we’ll start by launching the Instagram app on your smartphone and tapping on the “Your Story” icon in the top-left corner. 

Now, we’ll go ahead and add a background to your collage by tapping on the thumbnail icon and selecting a photo from the camera roll.  

We can also take a photo using the phone camera for our backdrop. 

Once we are satisfied with the background, it’s time to add our first photo to the collage. To do this, slide up from the bottom of the screen, which brings up several sticker options available.  

Once again, we’ll choose a photo from our camera roll or take a photograph using the phone camera.

There’s a gallery icon with a “+” sign inside, which we’ll tap on for the latter. This will bring up all the photos from our camera roll.  

 If you want to take pictures on the go, click the “Camera” icon instead.

We can now adjust the size of our photo by pinching in or out with two fingers. We can also move it around by tapping and holding down on the photo. To add another photo, we’ll repeat the steps above. 

We can add as many photos as we want to our collage. To delete a photo from the collage, simply hold and push it to the trash icon that appears on the top corner of the screen.

Once we are satisfied with our collage, we can add some finishing touches. For instance, we can add text by tapping on the “Aa” icon and typing out our message. We can also change the text’s font, color, and size.  

When we are happy with how our collage looks, we can share it with our Story by tapping on the “Your Story” icon. This uploads the collage to our Story for all our followers to see!

We can also save the collage by hitting the three dots in the top right corner and selecting “Save.” 

How to Create an Instagram Collage Story Using the Layout Option?

Here is another way to make a collage on your Instagram story. These steps are slightly different from the ones given above, but it is still easy to follow.

Start by launching the app and tapping on the “Your Story” icon in the top-left corner.

This time, instead of adding a background, we’ll use Instagram story layouts. There is a “Layout” icon on the left side of your screen. You’d want to select that. 

Choose from the layout options depending on the number of photos you want in your collage. Now it’s time to add images to each section of the layout.

You can either select photos from your gallery using its icon in the lower left, or take new ones by selecting the camera icon.

Next, check whether the photos are in the desired order or not. If not, you can tap and switch with other images until you’re satisfied with the arrangement. You can also delete images by simply clicking the image and tapping the trash icon. 

If satisfied, click the “circled checkmark” to save the arrangement.

Like before, we can add finishing touches like text, filters, and more by tapping on the respective icons.

Once done, we can share our story collage by hitting the “Your Story” icon.
